Abstract

According to the geological characteristics and development status of gas cap and edge water reservoir, the study on distribution law of remaining oil is carried out, and five dominate factors which have the main influence on the formation of remaining oil are presented, and the dominate factors are lens reservoir, structural high point, gas cap, interlayer, well pattern and well type, etc. Based on the dominant factors of remaining oil, the distribution modes of remaining oil are developed. There are four distribution modes in vertical direction: roof oil, eaves oil, ridge oil, room oil, and there are two distribution modes in the plane; cloud remaining oil and volcanic cone remaining oil. The developed strategies are also presented corresponding to the distribution modes of remaining oil. In vertical direction, the roof oil can be developed by drilling horizontal wells at the top of reservoir, the eaves oil can be developed by drilling horizontal wells at the bottom of reservoir, the ridge oil can be developed by perforation of pass by wells, and the room oil can be developed by infilling horizontal well; In the plane, the cloud remaining oil can be developed by improving well pattern, and using horizontal well to exploit bottom remaining oil, the volcanic cone remaining oil can be developed by drilling wells at remaining oil enriched area.
