摘要

Abstract

Reproductive organ structures of Eretmocerus hayati (Zolnerowich & Rose) and Encarsia sophia (Girault & Dodd), parasitoids of Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius), were described in this paper. Both parasitoid females have two ovaries, each consisting of three ovarioles. Mature ova could be observed in the ovaries of 6 h-old females and the number of mature ova increased in 24 h-old females, indicating that these two parasitoids were synovigenic parasitoids. Moreover, the number of mature ova in Er hayati was higher than that in En. sophia whether the female was 6 or 24 h-old. The results were coincident with what we found in oviposition experiment that the 24 h-old Er. hayati female parasitized more hosts than En. sophia, but fed less.
