Abstract
Objective To study the values and clinical effects of the diathermy eapsulotomy in infantile congenital cataracts surgery. Methods The clinical data of 52 patients (92 eyes) with infantile congenital cataracts were retrospectively analyzed. All the patients underwent anterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis using the diathermy capsulotomy. The diathermy capsulotomy also was applied to the fibrosis membrane of the lens posterior capsular. Then, combined with anterior vitrectomy. The condition of capsular during and after the surgery was recorded. The follow—up duration was 6-17 months. Results The continuous curvilinear oapsulorhexis was done in the 92 eyes (100%) with the diathermy capsulotomy. The anterior capsule edge of 83 eyes were smooth in one—time. Radial tear was happened in the anterior capsule edge of 9 eyes, then operated with opposite direction at once, the continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis were also complete. The success rate of the anterior continuous curvilinear eapsu— lorhexis was 90.2%. The posterior capsule edge of 13 eyes were smooth in one—time. The success rate of the posterior continuous curvilinear capsulorhexis was 100%. After one month, all capsule edges were a different degree of fibrosis and becoming white. Six months after .surgery, all the capsule edges were white. Capsular bag happened different degrees of shrinks. Conclusions The diathermy capsulotomy has more extensive applicability and effective than manual capsulorhexis in infantile congenital cataracts surgery.关键词
