Abstract

NiFe2O4 nanocrystals were prepared diffractometry (XRD), transition electron microscopy by hydrothermal treatment, and characterized by X-ray (TEM), and Fourier transformation infrared ( FTIR ) spectroscopy. Catalytic activity of NiFe2O4 nanocrystals on the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate was investigated by thermal analysis-quadrupole mass spectrometry (TG-QMS). NiFe2 O4 nanocrystals with an average particle size of 5.0 nm promote the thermal decomposition of ammonium perchlorate (AP). When the content of NiFe2O4 nanocrystals is increased to 10%, the catalytic performance is the best. Thermal decomposition temperature of AP in the presence of NiFe2O4 nanocrystals is reduced by 89.8℃.
