Phosphotyrosine Interaction Domain Containing 1 Gene: Regulation on Meat Quality
摘要
Abstract
The phosphotyrosine interaction domain containing 1 (PIDl) gene is a novel gene associated with fat metabolism regulation. PIDl gene expression can be detected in multiple tissues of different animals. Over-expression of PIDl gene dramatically stimulates preadipocytes proliferation, and affects mRNA expression levels of candidate genes for meat quality traits, such as peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-γ coactivator 1 α (PGC-1 α) and uncoupling protein (UCP). Study on effects of PIDl on meat quality of livestock and poultry and its mechanism can provide new methods for improving the meat quality. The paper reviews the discovery and expression profile of PIDl gene, the structure of PIDl protein, the relationship between PIDl and candidate genes for meat quality traits and its possible role in regulating meat quality of livestock and poultry.关键词
