Effect of apparent density of powder and shape of the particle on preparation and properties of sintered stainless steel porous material

摘要

Abstract

Porous sintered powder materials were prepared by using gas atomized and water atomized stainless steel powders with different particle shape. The effects of particle shape and powder apparent density on the forming pressure and sintering temperature etc. In the manufacturing process of sintered stainless steel porous materials were studied. The effects of powder apparent density of raw material on permeability and tensile strength of stainless steel powder sintered porous material were studied. Results show that the powder apparent density markedly affects forming pressure,sintering temperature and permeability of the products. The forming pressure of gas atomized powder is higher than that of water atomized powder by near one time in the particle size range of 0. 18 - 0. 90mm. The sintering temperature of spherical powder is higher than that of irregular powder by 60 - 701 in the same particle size range. In the particle size range of 0.45 - 0.60mm, the product permeability made of powder with apparent density of 4.13 g/cm3 is 3. 16×10-10 m2, while that of powder with apparent density of 2. 67 g/cm3 is only 8. 8×10-11 m2 . The strength of sintered porous material of stainless steel powder is affected markedly by the powder apparent density ,the apparent density the higher, the strength the lower under the same conditions.
