摘要
Abstract
Objective To evaluate the therapeutic effect of percutaneous radiofrequency ablation (PRFA) combined with transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE) for the small hepatocellular carcinoma. Methods From January 2001 to December 2005, 85 patients (group 1 with 92 lesions) with small hepatocellular carcinoma were treated with combined PRFA and TACE, while the other 77 cases (group 2 with 85 lesions) with small hepatocellular carcinoma were treated with PRFA alone, and their clinical data were collected and analyzed retrospectively. Results In group 1, the complete necrosis rate of lesions was 96%, the 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival rate after treatment were 100%, 85,2% and 78.7%, respectively. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year disease free survival rate were 87.5%, 73.1%, and 65.7%, respectively. In group 2, the complete necrosis rate of lesions was 92%.The 1-, 3-, and 5-year overall survival rate after treatment were 100%, 81.3% and 72.3%, respectively. The 1-, 3-, and 5-year disease free survival rate were 83,6%, 68.7%, and 57.8%, respectively. No significant difference was found between two groups concerning the complete necrotic rate of lesions, 1-, 3-, 5-year rate of overall survival and disease free survival. Conclusion Combined treatment of PRFA and TACE, and PRFA alone have equivalent effectiveness for the treatment of small hepatocellular carcinoma, so for the patients with small hepatocellular carcinoma, PRFA is a safe and effective treatment.
