广东省1型糖尿病患者发病风险与出生月份的相关性
The correlation between the birth month and the risk of type 1 diabetes in Guangdong Province

Abstract
Objective To investigate the correlation between the birth month and the risk of type 1 diabetes among people in Guangdong Province. Methods The birth month data, demographic information, and medical history of type 1 diabetic patients ( medical records documented from January 2000 to March 2011 ) in 105 hospitals from all 21 cities in Guangdong Province were collected. Kernel smoother technique was conducted to calculate expected incident number in each birth month. Results A total of 2 227 type 1 diabetic patients were included. After data smoothing, a deficit between December and April, and an excess between June and October were revealed, among which the highest risk was August birth and the lowest risk was January birth ( RR = 1. 26, P <0. 01 ). Conclusion August birth might be associated with risk of type 1 diabetes in Guangdong.关键词
