Abstract
Objective To explore the feasibility of primary blood screening without ALT detection before blood donation in students. Methods All the blood donors were divided into two groups:student donors and other donors. Methods Primary ALT screening before blood donation and re-detection were performed from 2007 to 2011 in other donors and from 2007 to 2009 in student donors. And the student donors received only detection after donation but no primary screening in 2010 and 2011.ALT of > 40U/L was the positive result. The differences of positive rate of primary ALT screening between the student donors and other donors, the differences of positive rates in three years in student donors, and the differences of positive rate of re-detection of ALT in five years ( from 2007 to 2011 )were statistically analyzed. Results The positive rate of primary ALT screening was 0.18% in 2007,0.20% in 2008,and 0.18% in 2009 for student donors, and 3.82%,4.00%,and 3.91% for other donors, with a significant difference between the student and other donors in each year ( P< 0.05 ).There were no significant differences in the positive rate of ALT screening in student donors from 2007 to 2009 ( P> 0.05 ).The positive rate of re-detection of ALT in student donors from 2007 to 2011 was very low ( 0.15%,0.12%,0.12%,0.20%,and 0.20%,respectively ),with no significant difference among the five years. Conclusions In the activities of school collective donation, primary blood screening without ALT detection before blood donation in student donors has little effect on the final positive rate of ALT re-detection,basically equalling to the positive rate of primary screening,so ALT detected can be skipped in primary blood screening before donation.关键词
