Study on Biomechanical Nature of Cortical Bone in Femur

摘要

Abstract

Six cases of the femur of normal Chinese fresh corpses were used for capturing 24 femoral ring section of cortical bone along the lateral longitudinal axis. These sections were processed to make 60 test bone samples, 40 as 5 mm × 5 mm × 30 mm and 20 as 5 mm × 5 mm × 10 mm. All the samples were assigned to axial stretching group, compressing group and three-point bending group for the mechanical test research. The test result obtained the indexes of mechanical properties such as:damaging load of stretching and compressing, limit of strength, modulus of elasticity, bending destructive load, surface hardness, bending strength, bending modulus of elasticity, etc. The sampling position of cortical bone, the processing method of test samples and the fixing method of stretching samples were discussed, and finally analysis and discussions of the mechanical performance of the cortical bones in femur were given as well.
