Effect of rudder′s arrangement on propeller hydrodynamic performance
摘要
Abstract
In order to discuss hull-propeller-rudder interaction and the design principle for the rudder arrangement behind the propellers,a large ship equipped with four propellers and two rudders was studied.The hull-propeller-rudder interaction was simulated numerically based on Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes(RANS) and sliding mesh method without considering the free surface effect.The current work was focused on the effect of rudder placement on propeller hydrodynamic performance.The numerical results show that for a large ship equipped with four right handed propellers,the hydrodynamic performance of the fore propeller is not sensitive to the longitudinal and transverse position changes,while the aft propeller′s hydrodynamic performance is sensitive;in a certain range,the thrust and torque coefficient of the aft propeller will decrease with the increase of the transverse distance between the rudder and midship longitudinal section,and also decrease with the increase of the longitudinal distance between the rudder and aft propeller disk.关键词
