摘要

Abstract

DC filter is an important part of HVDC transmission system. The high voltage capacitor Cl has high fault rate in DC filter. In order to detect the fault of the internal components of the high voltage capacitor unit, we configure unbalanced protection to reflect the damage of capacitance components. This paper studies the fault mechanism of high voltage capacitor and fault characteristics in depth. The principle and scheme of Cl unbalance protection for Nuozhadu-Guangdong UHVDC transmission project are proposed and the calculation method of Cl unbalance protection setting value is given. The protection scheme is tested in the RTDS real time simulation system, and experiment results show that it can protect high voltage capacitor effectively, and identify the unit fault of the high voltage capacitor accurately and reliably.
