Abstract
Objective To explore the normal value of wave intensity (WI) in carotid artery of healthy individuals. Methods One hundred and fifty-two volunteers were stratified into three age groups. Mitral valve E/A, left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), accelerating wave intensity (W,), decelerating wave intensity (W2), NA, R-W1, W1-W2 were recorded by color Doppler ultrasonography (Prosound a 10, A- LOKA Company, Tokyo, Japan). The data were analyzed with one-way ANOVA and Pearson. Results The values of W, in the normal subjects were 10976 ?7373, 8350 ?3959 and 8250 ?3737mmHg穖穝-3, respectively; those of W2 were 1803 ?1054, 1822 ?946 and 1919 ?863mmHg穖穝-3, respectively. No significant difference was found among the 3 groups (P>0.05). Correlation analysis revealed a minor correlation between W,, Wj, E/A, NA and age, but no correlation was found between R-W1, W1-W2, LVEF and age. Conclusions The present study gives the similar results as that obtained abroad. As a new technique WI may show some clinical significance in future application.关键词
