Abstract

At present, strengthening of foundation of port engineering is more and more important with the development of the coast pier and the construction of buildings to the deepwater area in advance. So techniques of foundation strengthering are essential and necessary in many casses. The treatment method of the foundation of sand compaction piles in the construction of new buildings of the sea port has an obvious advantage. However the current understanding and mastery of bearing capacity calculation method of sand compaction piles are still remain vague. So in the domestic application, this method gets great restrictions. In order to study the load-bearing characteristics of sand compaction piles, this paper summarizes the calculation methods of sand compaction pile bearing capacity according to the domestic and foreign relevant materials. At the same time, this paper provides an example of the Yangshan in ShangHai to verify these calculation methods. The comparison of all kinds of calculation methods for bearing capacity can provid references for the design of similar projects.
