Video Retrieval Method Based on Shot Discrimination Analysis

Abstract
With the development of video resources, traditional video retrieval systems cannot achieve satisfactory results. Therefore, Content-based Video Retrieval(CBVR) becomes a hot research field. Video shots have different representativeness, some shots can represent the content of videos effectively while others cannot. In order to overcome the disadvantage of traditional video retrieval methods and ensure the retrieval accuracy and efficiency, this paper proposes the concept of shot discrimination and the calculation method based on shot representativeness. A new video retrieval method is designed based on shot discrimination analysis and this method extracts both shot static feature and motion feature to calculate shot discrimination. Experimental results demonstrate that this method outperforms other ones and can achieve the accuracy of 94%.关键词
