Abstract
Objective To explore the serum levels of brain - derived neurotrophie factor (BDNF) and glial cell line-derived neurotrophie factor(GDNF) in patients with recurrent depression. Methods The serum BDNF and GDNF levels in recurrent depression patients ( m =49) and normal control subjects (n= 36) were assayed by the enzyme- link immunosorbent assay (ELISA ) method. The depressive symptoms were assessed by Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD). Results The serum BDNF and GDNF levels in recurrent depression patients before drug treatment were significantly lower than those in normal control subjects (P<0.01). The serum BDNF level in recurrent depression patients were significantly negatively correlated with HAMD score (P<0.01). Conclusion The recurrent depression patient may have a low neurotrophie factor level. It is not clear whether the change is the biomarker of depressive episode.关键词
