Abstract
Objective To explore the long- term efficacy of applying core decompression combined with porous tantalum rod implantation for early - stage femoral head necrosis. Methods Nineteen early femoral head necrosis patients (19 hips) received treatment of core decompression combined with porous tantalum rod implantation. The mean follow - up period was 24 months. Joint function was evaluated according to the Harris hip scoring system before and after surgery, and imaging was evaluated according to the ARCO staging system. Results Imaging showed that there was no progress of sclerosis and cystic change in bone necrosis. Bone remodeling of femoral head necrosis was seen in 18 patients with no changes in shape and joint space. The mean Harris score improved from preoperative 62 to 84 points (mean = 75) to 85 to 99 points (mean= 95). The excellent rate reached 100% . Conclusion The combined treatment of core decompression with tantalum rod implantation for early - stage femoral head necrosis increases the mechanical support for sub-chondral bone of the femoral head area, prevents the radiographic progression, relieves symptoms, promotes bone growth, and the long-term therapeutic efficacy is satisfactory.关键词
