Automatic discriminant analysis of gas-well production status in an gas collection system at coal-bed methane field

Abstract
In a multi-inlet passageway and scalable gas collection system, there are still some problems of low efficiency and inaccurate data in gas-well monitoring and management. This paper proposes a new discrimination method of gas-well production status based on temporal data sequence analysis to automate the determination of the gas-well measurement. Firstly, an adaptive autoregressive model (AR) is applied as a filter to exactly determine the switch time between two gas wells. Secondly, the Jensen-Shannon divergence (JSD) is used to discriminate the production status of gas wells and obtain the operating state of the equipment. The field test results in a CBM field show that the rotation measurement time and the production status can be accurately discriminated, even in a complex production condition. Therefore, its application can reduce labor force for system patrolling or manual logging in field and improve the management efficiency.关键词
