摘要

Abstract

Braided channels exist widely in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, a great part of these channels are in bad navigation conditions because of the shoals at the entrance of the branches. After the impoundment of the Three Gorges Project, the variations of runoff and sediment load induce the transformation of the downstream shoals, which worsen the navigation condition of some channels. Based on the. existing summary of the characteristics of the Jiayu-Yanziwo section, the relationship between river boundary and hydraulic sediment conditions is analyzed, and the mechanism of fluvial processes is revealed. The river evolution tendency and the optimization of the waterway projects are then presented.
