A Thorough Investigation into the Chronicle of Zuo： Zhengbo Beat Duan at Yan
摘要
Abstract
The recorded piece of Zhengbo Beat Duan at Yan is a perennially relished story in Chronicle ofZuo, and it is also one of the must-read pieces in college Chinese teaching curriculum nowadays. This paper presents an investigation into this novelistic story with a view to clarifying the relationship between the Chronicle of Zuo and the Spring and Autumn Annals, revealing the influence of Confucianism on politics, delineating the image of Duke Zhuang of Zheng, discussing how to stylize the narrative skills of ancient Chinese novelistic stories, as well as explaining points pertaining to knowledge of ancient Chinese language.关键词
