Abstract
Objective To investigate the association of polymorphism of aldosterone synthase gene (CYP11B2) with is-chemic stroke (IS) and hypertension. Methods By using case control study, 332 patients and 250 controls were included in this study. CYP11B2 gene-344T/C polymorphism was determined by polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and the intron 2 conversion polymorphism was genotyped using two separated polymerase chain reaction. Results In IS group, genotype frequencies of -344 T/C polymorphism and T gene were higher than that in the control (x2 = 12. 305111.577 ; P<0. 01), TT genotype might be the independent risk factor of IS. However, no significant association of intron 2 polymorphism with stroke was noted (P>0. 05). Conclusion CYP11B2(-344T/C) polymorphism is associated with ischemic stroke, which is likely to be a risk factor for prediction of ischemic stroke in Chinese Han people, but intron 2 polymorphism is not associated with the disease.关键词
