Effects of chilling stress on contents of chlorophyll and malondialdehyde in tomato seedlings

Abstract
Three tomato cultivars with different cold tolerances were used as test materials, and their seedlings'chlorophyll and malondialdehyde (MDA) variations were studied at 6,10,15℃ and 25℃.The results showed that under chilling stress, the tomato leaves'chlorophyll content decreased gradually and the decrement extent was in agreement with the intensity of chilling stress,but the cold-tolerant cultivar decreased less in chlorophyll content than the cold-sensitive one. The MDA content increased with the stress lasting and heightening, but the cold-tolerant cultivar increased slower and less in MDA content than the cold-sensitive one.关键词
