摘要

Abstract

For cascade hydropower stations on channels with small water storage capacity, unsteady flow caused by change in operation scheme is simulated and analyzed by visual software to avoid improper dispatching that results in undesirable phenomenon that the pool or channel is drained off, or much water is abandoned. The numerical model uses an explicit leapfrog scheme and a characteristic line scheme for unsteady open channel flow and pipe water hammer, respectively, and the interface of these two schemes is jointed together using the water level of diversion forebay and the flow rate of turbines. The simulation software is coded in Visual Basic 6.0. Using this software, scheduling schemes and operation principles of each station in a two-stations cascade system were obtained for the conditions of load rejection, system starting and outages and so on. Thus, this work provides valuable suggestions for design, operation and management of such projects.
