摘要

Abstract

Based on the parameters of built arch dams at home and abroad in the Hydraulic Design Manual (Second edition), numerical statistical regression analysis was applied to investigate the effects of the dam height on the thickness-height ratio of arch dam. An empirical formula of the thickness-height ratio and a proposed formula of the arch dam bottom thickness are provided in this paper. Compared with the existing formula of the arch dam bottom thickness, this proposed formula is better than the formulas from Hydraulic Design Manual (second edition) based on the correlation coefficient and standard deviation. Most of the calculated values of the built arch dam with the proposed formula were found to be closer to the design values. Thus, the proposed formula has ceitain reference value for engineering applications.
