Abstract
Objective To evaluate the application of ultrasound-guided mammotome in diagnosis and management of single intraductal papilloma of the breast. Methods The clinical data of 63 patients undergoing ultrasound-guided mammotome excision for single intraductal breast papilloms were retrospectively reviewed. Results 61 out of 63 patients were histologically diagnosed as intraductal papilloma and had no recurrence during the follow-up of 2-4 years; 1 patient demonstrating severe dysplasia received simple mastectomy; one other patient underwent modified radical mastectomy because of malignant transformation of breast intraductal papilloma. Post-operative hematoma developed in 2 patients, and recovered 6 months later without special treatment. Conclusion The ultrasound-guided mammotome can be used as a minimally invasive procedure for diagnosis and management of single intraductal papilloma of the breast.关键词
