摘要

Abstract

A method to make sure wavelength of slow-wave mode of electromagnetic bandgap structures is proposed in this paper.A kind of miniaturized microstrip antenna is designed using the characteristic that electromagnetic bandgap structures support slow-wave propagation." * " shapes electromagnetic bandgap structures are used as ground plane to increase relative electrical length.This antenna works at 2 GHz,relative bandwidth is 2.57 % and maximum gain is 5.45 dB,compared with conventional antenna,its area has reduced 40 %,and its relative bandwidth is improved.The antenna had been fabricated and measured,measured result and simulated result agree very well.
