Comparative Study Between the Tethered-type Feeding and Scattered-type Feeding Styles on Slaughter Performance and Meat Quality in Beef Cattle
摘要
Abstract
The present study was conducted to make a comparison between the tethered-type feeding and scattered-type feeding in order to study the effects of feeding styles on slaughter performance and meat quality in beef cattle from the point of animal welfare, Sixteen fattening Simmental Improved hybrid male catties with similar body weight (220± 9.78kg), and age(9±0.57month) were randomly divided into two groups, Each of the 8 head of cattle. Preliminary test for a period of 7 days,A formal test for a period of 84 days, tethered-type feeding group and scattered-type feeding group. The results showed as follows: eye muscle area, cooking loss and SOD concentration in meat were significantly increased in scattered-type feeding group (P<0.05), but the kidney fat weight, omental fat weight, the pH value in 1 hour after slaughter were significantly decreased (P <0.05), and other indexes were not affected significantly (P> 0.05). The meat quality in scattered-type feeding group was better than in tethered-type group.关键词
