Intervention Study on Perioperative Prophylactic Application of Antibiotics in Type Ⅰ Incision Surgery in 19 Hospitals from Jinmen Area

Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To strengthen the perioperative prophylactic application and management of antibiotics in hospitals from Jinmen area. METHODS: 3027 medical records of type I incision surgery (thyroid, breast, abdominal external hernia) were collected from 19 hospitals in Jinmen area during Apr. -Sept. in 2010 and 2011 retrospectively. 1489 medical records during Apr.-Sept. 2010 were included in before intervention group (group A), and 1 538 medical records during Apr.-Sept. 2011 were included in after intervention group (group B). The reasonability of antibiotics use, average hospitalization stay and cost were analyzed statistically in 2 groups. RESULTS: Compared with group A, the utilization ratio of antibiotics in group B decreased, the delivered rate of the etiology specimens, the reasonability of type selection of antibiotics, reasonable rate of medication time and proportion of single drug increased significantly, but average treatment course, average hospitalization stay and hospitalization cost per capita decreased (P<0.05). There was no statistical significance in post-operation infection rate between 2 groups (P>0.05). CONCLUSION: After intervention, the perioperative prophylactic application of antibiotics in type I incision surgery from the hospitals of this area tends to be scientific, reasonable and standard, and medical cost decreases significantly.关键词
