Abstract
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the changes of outpatient prescriptions before and after pharmacist intervention and effect of it on prescription quality. METHODS: Outpatient prescriptions were collected randomly during Jan.-Apr. in 2011 (before intervention) and Sept.—Dec. in 2011 (after intervention) respectively. Parallel comparison and analysis of them were carried out. RESULTS: The passing rate of outpatient prescriptions were 78.76% before intervention and 89.45% after intervention. The utilization of antibiotics and injection decreased obviously from 39.00% and 19.75% before intervention to 19.00% and 6.75% after intervention. Among several departments as key object, the passing rates of prescriptions in department of stomatology and dermatology were improved more obviously than others. CONCLUSION: The quality of outpatient prescriptions has been improved by continuous prescription evaluation, irrational prescription evaluation, pharmacist and hospital administration department intervention, which also improved the bad habit of clinical drug use. However, it also has some problems, further intervention is required.
