Study on Hot-Melt Sidewall Strengthening Technology
摘要
Abstract
Instability of sidewall is a common problem existing in the drilling process which puzzled the drilling industry. The traditional way of casing can isolate instability sidewall reliably. However, it has some drawbacks such as reduction of hole-diameter, time and power consumption, increase of cost and work duration, and even drilling accidents. The project team devoted to research a kind of simple, reliable, fast and effective way for supporting hole well, which will do not reduce hole-diameter at the same time. This new method melts the granular hot melting material, and squeezes it into the sidewall cracks to attain the purpose of reinforcing sidewall. This paper elaborates the design of the heating element, hot melt materials selection and indoor artificial simulation of sidewall reinforcement test. The result indicates that this new method is feasible and able to attain obvious strengthening side- wall effects.关键词
