摘要

Abstract

With low-cost TiH2 powders as raw material to fabricate pure titanium, the effects of sintering parameters such as sintering temperature, sintering time and sintering atmosphere on the densifieation and microstracture of as-sintered titanium products were investigated systemically, and mechanical properties of the samples by vacuum sintering were tested. The results show that full density titanium products can be manufactured with TiH2 powders by MIM. With sintering temperature and time increasing, the porosity reduces and the density increases clearly. The relative density sintered at 1 150℃ for 3h is 93. 88% and the relative density sintered at 1 300℃ for 3h is 98. 52% . When sintering at 1 300℃ for 2h , the relative density is 96. 69%. Sintering atmosphere has an obvious effect on the properties of the sample. The relative density is the highest, grain size is also the biggest, but the contents of carbon and oxygen are the lowest under the vacuum condition. The samples sintered at 5 X 10-3 Pa and 1 300℃ in vacuum atmosphere for 3h have hardness of 388HV, tensile strength of 325MPa and elongation of 4. 43%.
