Abstract
Objective:To evaluate the clinical value of modified single-port transumbilical laparoscopic appendectmy. Methods; From Jan. 2010 to May 2012,39 patients with appendicitis were treated with modified single-port transumbilical laparoscopic appendectomy at our hospital. Clinical data of these patients were analyzed retrospectively. During the operation,a 15 mm umbilical incision was made to place a 10 mm 30?laparoscope and an 3-mm operating clamp with common veress needle. Results ;The operation was completed successfully in all cases without conversion to open surgery or other. Average operative time was (30 ?. 6) min. Average length of postoperative hospital stay was (4 ?1. 5 ) days. Follow-up was achieved in 39 cases for 1 -29 months. No incisional infection or recurrent right lower abdominal pain occurred. Conclusions; Modified Single-port transumbilical laparoscopic appendectmy was feasible, safe, and less invasive. It was associated with faster recovery, better cosmetic results and low cost of hospitalization.关键词
