Abstract

Using Ca(NO3)2 · 4H2O and ( NH4 ) 2HPO4 as raw materials, hydroxyapatite crystals were synthesized under hydrothermal conditions and the effect of the hydrothermal temperatures and times, pH values and solution concentrations on hydroxyapatite crystals synthesis were researched in the paper. The phase composition, chemical composition, micromorphology of the obtained HA were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscope, respectively. The results indicate that pH value play a decisive role on the synthesis of hydroxyapatite crystals. By adjusting pH value from 5 to 10, the micromorphology of HA gradually chang from long bar-like to shot bar-like until ball-like. Orthogonal experiments, fixing pH value of 10 and studying the other three factors on the effect of hydroxyapatite particle size, show that the order of three factors are as solution concentration > hydrothermal time > hydrothermal temperature and the optimum technological conditions of synthesizing HA with small particle size and high activity is k2k1k3, that is to say, the hydrothermal temperature is 140 ℃ ,the hydrothermal time is 1 d and the solution concentration is 0.5 mol/L.
