Abstract
The sensitivity at low velocity impact of HMX-pressed PBX was measured by using Susan test. The influence of crystal quality and particle size of HMX on the Susan sensitivity of the PBX was studied. The results show that the velocity threshold for ignition of the PBX increases while the quality of HMX crystal improves. The velocity threshold of the PBX in Susan test increases from 47 m/s to 59 m/s when the particle size of high quality HMX increases from 20μm to 105μm, and the reaction violence after impact of the latter is less than that of the former. There is a critical velocity of about 100 m/s, below the velocity, the reaction violence of high-quality HMX-based PBX is less than that of commercial HMX-based PBX, whereas above and beyond the velocity this reaction violence of high-quality HMX-based PBX is more than that of commercial HMX-based PBX.关键词
