摘要

Abstract

A traditional granite called Maple Red was machined by free abrasive. The surface roughness, glossiness, and morphology of different areas of the granite were observed and measured after lapping and polishing. The results indicated that the granite's glossiness could reach 89 after 8 h polishing. Moreover, the quartz area was easier to get better machining quality than the feldspar area, the surface roughness of quartz area and feldspar area was 0. 05 μm and 0. 14 μm respectively after polishing.
