Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of qing jin hua jian decoction combined with chemotherapy on quality of life (QOL) of patients with advanced non small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by using the international quality of life questionnaire,and to observe its effect on clinical symptoms,physical strength (KPS score) and the level of tumor markers. Methods Forty patients with advanced NSCLC were randomly assigned into 2 groups. The 20 patients in the treatment group received qing jin hua jian decoction combined with GP chemotherapy scheme,and the other 20 patients in the control group only received GP chemotherapy scheme. A treatment cycle lasted for 28 days and two cycles were observed. Survival quality measurement tools such as EORTC QLQ - C43 and FACT - L were employed to contrastively observe recent efficacy and QOL. Results QOL in the treatment group was improved in all domains,while the QOL in the control group declined. The treatment group displayed better outcomes in terms of releasing clinical symptoms,enhancing QOL and the physical strength (KPS score),reducing the level of tumor marker,and decreasing the adverse toxicities caused by chemotherapy. The difference of the two groups was statistically different (P<0.05).Conclusion Qing jin hua jian decoction can improve QOL of patients with advanced NSCLC,lighten the clinical symptoms,enhance the physical strength (KPS score),reduce the level of tumor marker,increase and stabilize the body weight. Thus it is worthy of clinical applications.关键词
