Abstract
As a carrier of culture, language is a social phenomenon. Name is a kind of sign used to distinguish one person from the other. Name is both a language sign and also a social symbol, and a very important part of culture as well. The naming ways in different nations are varied, but they all carry rich cultural connotations. Under the influence of different language habits, history, tradition, customs and social environment, Chinese and English names differ greatly in their structures, origins and cultural imphcations.关键词
