The technology of laser assisted machining to engineering ceramics
摘要
Abstract
Laser Assisted Machining( LAM) uses external heat sources to locally heat and soften the engineering ceramics before cutting tool. And then,remove the soften materials with tools. As a result,the yield strength,hardness and strain hardening of the work-piece reduce and deformation behavior of the engineering ceramic materials changes from brittle to ductile. This enables the engineering ceramic materials to be machined more easily and with low machine power consumption, which leads to increase in material removal rate and productivity. Gives a comprehensive summary about the laser assisted machining ceramics from contents including the research progresses of LAM, integration of a laser beam with machining applications and material removal mechanisms.关键词
