Abstract
Objective To explore the cause of paraurethral cyst misdiagnosed as paries anterior vaginase cyst and propose preventive measures in order to improve the diagnosis and treatment. Methods Retrospective analysis of clinical data of 7 patients with paraurethral cyst misdiagnosed as having paries anterior vaginase cyst preoperalive admitted during Jan 2000 and Jan 2011 and confirmed by histopathology after surgery were performed. Results A single cystic mass on the anterior vaginal wall could be felt during gynecological examination in 7 patients who later underwent surgery to remove cyst. All the seven patients were confirmed with having paraurethral cyst by postoperative histopathology. One patient was found with urethro vaginal fistula one week after surgery and the fistula was repaired 3 months later, one patient had to undergo dilation of urethra due to urethral stricture, the other five patients recovered well. Conclusion Due to different anatomical locations, clinicians should also consider the possibility of paraurethral gland cyst when diagnose paries vaginase cyst. The MRI, cystoscopy and discharge cysto urethrography examinations can avoid misdiagnosis and reduce urethral injury.关键词
