The scores of self-blame, illusion, and retreat were higher in the patients who had mental problem than that in mental healthy ones, the difference being significant (t= — 5. 94-----1. 70,P<0. 05). The variables entering multiple stepwise regression equation were self-blame, fantasy, problem solving (F=31. 52,P<0. 01,6= -0. 16-0. 47,F<0. 05). Conclusion The level of mental health in newly diagnosed patients with hyperthyroidism is lower than that in normal person.
