Abstract

This paper reviewed the application of flyash in the treatment of printing and dyeing wastewater. When the flyash is used as a sorbem directly for treating printing and dyeing wastewater the efficiency is low, while the modified flyash has a higher adsorptivity. When coagulation of tlyash is applied the removal rates of COD and eolority of wastewater are 50% - 60% and 80% respectively. The flyash reacted electrochemically with scrap iron is available for treatment of the printing and dyeing wastewater. As a floeculation-settling agent, combining other process, the removal rates of COD and eolority for priming and dyeing wastewater could reach 90% and more than 95% respectively. Successful examples of treating priming and dyeing wastewater by flyash were presented. The study on mechanism should be strengthened to solve the problems of projects and equipments in future.
