Abstract
Objective: To compare the effects of CT scan images with and without contrast material on the target area of the radiation therapy for esophageal cancer and on the dose distribution of threatened organ. Methods: Select 12 cases of esophageal cancer, and separately collect the images of CT plain scan and CT enhanced layers. Then, input the images into the project system. Draw the outline of the targets, threatened organs and the design optimization of 1MR1 planning in the enhanced Cl image. Ihere were two com-parison schemes: Scheme 1 copied the outline of the targets and the plan to the CT plain scan and recalculated, then compared the re-suits with the original plan; Scheme 2 copied the outline of the target areas and the optimum conditions to the CT plain scan and made recalculation with optimization, and then compared the results with the original plan. Results; The electron densities of the Body, PTV, lung, and the heart were higher when there was a contrast material with statistical significance. The collected data of the target areas in D2% ,D50% D95% D98% ,Body95% ,CI and HI with contrast material in Scheme 1 was lower than that of the plain scan with statistical significance. However, no statistical significance was observed 01 the machine hop counts, ror the threatened organ 01 lung in V5 , V20 and Dmean, also the heart in V40 and Dmean , the maximum dose of spinal cord were all significantly less when there was a contrast material. For Scheme 2, in the target areas of D2% , D50% D95% ,D9%% , Body95% ,CI and HI; lung in V5 , V2q and Dmean ; and the heart in V40 and Dmean, the maximum dose of spinal cord there was no significant difference. Also for the machine hop counts, there were fewer counts when there was no contrast materials. Conclusion; The effects of the intravenous contrast on the distribution of the IMRT dose is low, and the error is acceptable in clinical practice. However, the optimization treatment plan can get more accurate
dose in plain scan.关键词
