超强地震作用下高拱坝损伤开裂行为研究
Study on cracking behavior of high arch dam subjected to strong earthquakes

Abstract
A numerical study is presented for cracking behaviors of high arch dam under strong earthquakes, using a plastic-damage model and a contact boundary method to model concrete cracking and opening/closing behaviors of contraction joint, respectively, and focusing on the influence of thermal loading on dynamic responses of the dam. Computations of the responses show that on the downstream face, concrete cracking occurs in the upper middle region of dam body, while on the upstream face, it concentrates near the dam- foundation interface. These cracks are large in magnitude and extend to the deep interior of the body, hence causing a potential threatening to instability of dam structure. The results indicate a significant influence of thermal loading on the dynamic responses of joint opening, cracks and crack opening displacement, etc.关键词
