Abstract

Al-modified HZSM-5 were prepared by the method of impregnating HZSM-5 with Al salt solution, and their catalytic performances in the reaction of methanol to olefins(MTO)were evaluated. The effects of Al loading amount, reaction temperature, feed gas space velocity and time on stream on the reaction were investigated. The increase of Al loading leaded to the decrease of the specific surface area and the pore volume of the Al-HZSM-5, but didn' t change the framework structure. The selectivity of light olefins was obviously improved on the Al-modified HZSM-5. The best Al loading was 6% by mass, and the selectivity to light olefins on the catalyst with the best Al loading could be up to 69.3%(ethylene 42.7%, propylene 26.6%). The optimal reaction temperature and feed gas space velocity were determined as 380℃ and 786-996 ml.g-1.h-1, respectively. The catalyst lost activity gradually with time on stream due to coking.
