Effects of Soil Properties on Carbon Contents in Urban and Farm Soils of the Yangtze River Delta Region

Abstract
Soil carbon is an important part of carbon cycle. It is also correlated with the soil proper- ties. Through detection of major soil parameters such as the total carbon (TC), major chemical composi- tions, pH, magnetic susceptibility of the urban and farm soils of the Yangtze River Delta Region, the study analyzed the influence of the physical and chemical properties on the total carbon and organic carbon (TOC) of soil, and the differences and causes for the differences were discussed. The study revealed that the urban soil has greater CO2 release potential than the farm soil.关键词
