摘要

Abstract

Production of renewable energy from the biomass is one important way to solve the energy crisis. Bioethanol, as the most common and successful renewable biofuel, has attracted a wide attention. Micro-and macro-algae, the new biosource, offer many potential advantages and are expected to be the future raw material for producing bioehanol. However, bioehanol from algae is only in its early breeding stage both in China and abroad. Much more efforts are required before its commercialization. This review mainly focuses on the recent advances, problems as well as the potential trend of technological development in algal bioethanol.
