Abstract

PM2. 5 concentration was measured on five roads and three residential districts of Hangzhou Xiasha region by portable air quality detector. PM2. 5 concentration of roads ranged between 40 μg/ra3 and 136 μg/m3 in 2010. In 2012, the value ranged between 18 μg/m3 and 67 μg/m3. Therefore, air quality was improved in recent years in Xiasha region. Different spatial distribution of roads and districts was also compared. The air quality of five roads ranging from good to bad was listed as follows: the east of Zhijiang Road along the Qiantang river, Xueyuan Street in the higher educathon zome, Wenyuan Road near the business district, Xuelin Street passing through the viaduct, and Weiken Street near the industrial area. The air quality of three districts ranging from good to bad was listed as follows: intensive residential districts, districts around the hugher education zone, and districts near the business area. In the meantime, the causes affecting PM2. 5 concentration were amalyzed. Automobile exhaust was the source of pollution in residential districts. Weather had a significant impact on the PM2. 5 concentration.
