Empirical Study on the Impact of Environment Regulation on Manufacturing's Industry Structure Upgrading --Based on 16 Manufacturing Industries' Panel Data

Abstract
With environment regulation being increasingly stringent, it effectively alleviates the environment problems, but at the same time impacts economy. Now, we are facing the critical period of the upgrading of manufacturing, which is the focus of manufacturing's transformation and upgrading in the 12th Five--Year Plan. Then, does environment regulation have a significant impact on upgrading of manufacturing' industrial structure? We use 16 manufacturing industries' panel data in 10 years to study the relationship between them. The empirical results demonstrate they have a long-term stable cointegration relationship. Further, environment regulation with lag 1 issue hampers the upgrading of manufacturing' industrial structure.关键词
