Abstract
Objective: To explore the life events as mediators in the relation between subjective socioeconomic status and smoking in adolescents. Methods: According to random and many cluster sampling method, a total of 10313 middle school students from grade 7 to grade 12 were recruited from ten cities of China. They were investigated with the Subjective Socioeconomic Status Scale for Chinese Adolescents (SSS-CA) and other scales. Results: Subjective socioeconomic status was significantly negatively correlated to smoking; Life events played a partially mediating role between subjective socioeconomic status and smoking. Conclusion: Subjective socioeconomic status and life events can predict youth smoking, and life events as partially mediator between subjective socioeconomic status and smoking.关键词
