摘要

Abstract

OBJECTIVE: To study the thermal stability of cefuroxime sodium. METHODS: The thermal decomposition curves were determined by thermogravimetry (TG) analysis and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). A combined method, including Kissinger method and Ozawa-Flynn-Wall method, was put forward to determining the kinetic parameters of thermal decomposition of cefuroxime sodium. RESULTS: The kinetic parameters of cefiiroxime sodium by Kissinger method vs. Ozawa-Flynn-Wall method were as follows: apparent activation energy: 139.2 kJ·mol-1 vs. 139.3 kJ·mol-1 and preexponential factor (In value): 18.64 s-1 vs. 18.66 s-1 in air; apparent activation energy: 106.8 kJ·mol-1 vs. 108.5 kJ·mol-1 and In value: 14.64 s-1 vs. 14.85 s-1 in nitrogen. There was no significant difference between 2 methods. CONCLUSION: Cefuroxime sodium has high activation energy with good thermal stability, and has better stability in nitrogen than in air.
